Reviewed April 14, 2025 (edited April 15, 2025)Nose: Sweet citrus (sherbet lemon, mandarin, ruby grapefruit), fragrant tea. Elderflower is identifiable but only once you know it is an ingredient- I’d defy anyone to pick it up otherwise. Palate: Sweet arrival with tea immediately apparent, and this lingers as the primary taste. Citrus (orange peel) later. The texture is soft and oily. Oddly, there is no trace of juniper on the palate at all. Finish: Medium/Long. Tea and citrus. The juniper content is dialed way down to the point where it is almost undetectable, and the overall character is gentle and citric. When mixed with tonic water this gin drowns easily and I can’t imagine using it in any cocktail, so I’d recommend taking it neat. It’s pleasant, but I think the profile is unbalanced so it’s not a gin that will become part of my regular buying rotation. Tasted from a sample purchased at Tobermory distillery. “Above Average” : 80/100 (3 stars)5.5 GBP per ShotTobermory Distillery Visitor Centre -

Reviewed October 21, 2023Very intense profile of juniper, citrusy fruitness, strong florals and something akin to black tea or Earl Grey with a bit of bergamot, though the different notes seem to fight each other for attention especially with tonic's tartness added and put a little at odds with the rest of the flavors. -

Reviewed July 10, 2020Really smooth and less floral forward than many other gins. I almost feel like there is some bergamot in there?
