Nose and palate are very grassy and has noted of damp hay. There’s something else in there that I can’t quite describe. Nice step up from the blended, but nothing special.
Nose:
New wood, chocolate, honey, and orange zest.
Palate:
Cedar and leather with little to no heat.
Finish:
Earthy tobacco
**good bourbon but young. It lacks the complexity of older equivalents. Like many bourbons at this price point it is good as a stand alone and mixer.**
Slight burn up front kinda reminds me of a rye. Has a sweet nutty and vanilla flavor and short fruity finish. Would probably drink better with more time in the barrel. Not bad straight and even better as a Pecan Old Fashioned- recipe on the TX website.
