Ethanol and spice on the nose. The rye spice continues on the palate. There’s a little bit of rye “funk” on the rear palate and the finish. Other than that, it’s a solid beginner rye, nothing offensive, nothing noteworthy.

This is a step above the small batch. Just a giant Kentucky hug from nose to finish. Vanilla, caramel, light oak. Just incredible.

Typical Beam nose, light peanut with some brown sugar, caramel, and oak with a nice rye spice undertone. The palate is more of the same and is very well-rounded with no rough edges. However, it also has nothing that stands out either. Almost seems like it drinks under its proof too with a medium-length finish. I’m a noted Beam enthusiast who also enjoyed OGD114

Nose: caramel, barrel char, light oak, dried green apple. Palate: sweetness, more caramel Finish: more apple, light ethanol, medium-long finish length (longer than I would expect for 90 proof) An incredible 4-grain bourbon at only 90 proof.

Some caramel and vegetation on the nose. The palate has hints of graham cracker and honey with some vegetal undertones. The finish is fairly brief and inoffensive. Better than most other batches Texas whiskies outside of Still Austin.

Some smoke and barrel char on the nose with a hint of sweetness, leather, and ethanol. The smokiness carries forward through the palate and the finish. Maybe a hint of cherry on the palate as well? Overall, an average pour at a somewhat premium MSRP.

Very oaky on the nose with a good amount of maple sweetness. Full-bodied mouthfeel and am long finish with decent amount of spice.

The nose is incredible; full of dessert wine sweetness (grape-forward fruit, obviously) and almost a syrupy note with just a hint of oak. The palate follows a similar playbook with hardly any ethanol burn. The finish is lengthy and complex and seems to linger on the back palate with a nice warm hug. This is a winner from Balcones for sure.

Some deep chocolate and dark, sweet fruit on the nose. There’s also some dark/bitter chocolate on the palate. The finish is short to medium and heavy oak. Solid pour, albeit maybe slightly overpriced.

A fairly classic bourbon throughout; from the nose, to the palate, and the finish. Nothing spectacular, but nothing to be upset about. Can be enjoyed neat or in a cocktail and at the price point, it’s fine for both.
