If you're looking for something that fights back then don't come to pappy. Nose is a gentle light vanilla and lemon ice tea. The tea shows up again in the palate with less lemon and more vanilla and oakyness. None of the flavors are fighting which leads to a all round drinker. Wish I could say what adding water does but it was gone before I could even try! Highly recommend if you can get for a good price.
I’ve been hanging onto this for a special occasion. Wow. Just wow. Tried straight up first, then with a touch of water. Either way I understand now why this (and the others in this series) is hard to find.

I was kind of disappointed in this one. Had heard from many people this and the 15 year were the two that you should seek out in the van winkle collection. I have to say I liked the ten better and still haven’t had any of the pappy’s. It is a solid bourbon very smooth with a decent oaky finish. Just left me wanting a little bit more.
