Weller 12 Year Bourbon

Still a great Bourbon, but in my opinion, inferior to Old Weller Antique 107. It's got a great nose, far more subtle than the antique, but less rewarding, with the same syrupy, candy shop, bakery profile. just toned down a little. The palate is lacking that "yip" I crave from the Antique 107, but the flavors are satisfying and consistent with the rest of the line. Some of the best of the best, and I'd never be without it, still, I feel that the Antique 107 edges it out in terms of potency, and overall personality. My mouth gives this a 9 out of ten!

Fresh wheat, pecans, almonds, and vanilla to start. As it warms, a big maple syrup note becomes more dominant. Finish is warming and smooth and is never overbearing. Well done bourbon.

Was able to obtain 3 bottles in Atlanta. Really smooth - balanced with all the usual flavors present (baking spices, vanilla etc. I picked up a fair amount of green apple on the nose.
