Westland Holy Mountain Cask Exchange
American Single Malt
Westland // Washington, USA
In the Cask Exchange series, Westland connects to their Pacific Northwest region as well as to its belief in brewing tradition. In this release, Holy Mountain Brewing Co.
filled port casks with their American Strong Beer and aged it with Brettanomyces yeast for over a year. Westland took those emptied casks, and filled them with three year old single malt made from its 5-malt barley bill, maturing the whiskey for another three years.

Tasting Notes
"The nose begins with citrusy, zesty hops, along with lemon and pine, all followed by chocolate bundt cake and macerated berries. The palate offers gooey baked brownies, and Christmas fruit cake with nutmeg, cloves and candied orange peel. The finish offers tannic oak and bitter coffee, along with pecan pie, allspice and cacao.
