Whistlepig 10 Year Small Batch Rye

Spicy with vanilla cinnamon and dark fruits. Lingers on the palate. Sips hot with a slight hug. It’s a one time purchase for me at this price point

Very drinkable for the proof and has lots of spice, but a little one note. Would have loved a little more sweet or oaky undertones.

Very spicy rye. Strong, too, you feel that 100 proof. Long legs, warm in the chest for a long time. Love the aftertaste.

N: Peppermint, vanilla, orange zest P: warming spices of cinnamon and nutmeg, brown sugar, oak, vanilla, cola F: medium. Spice and more spice with a slightly astringent sourness. Had no idea what I was expecting being poured one of these; I certainly wasn’t expecting an explosion of spicy complexity. It is oily and mouth coating and hides other flavours of leathers and tobacco, stone fruits and barrel char. Exciting and super tasty; my only real criticism is that it feels a little one dimensional in its complexity, spicy spicy spicy is great but it perhaps lacks balance with the softer undertones that are present and equally delicious, but somewhat muted.
