Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Rye

I’m not sure if it’s because it’s still new to me, having only recently found it in my market, but I am reaching for this more than the rare breed bourbon. Very good stuff. Has some bourbon sweetness with just the right amount of rye pepper spice and a great oily mouth feel. A staple.

Soooooo good, the only reason it’s not a 4.5 is because I’m not a huge fan of the wild turkey flavor undertone. But it’s not too harsh and its plenty sweet and peppery. Definitely a flavor bomb

Definitely some cinnamon and clove up front, followed by a sweet, caramel mid palate, then a nice long finish like red hots. Been looking for this one a while, and got lucky, worth every penny of $63.45 after my veteran discount, listed at $68.99 in the case.

Spicy but smooth. Very good.

Not too spicy not too sweet. Very tooth for the proof.
