Reviewed December 9, 2022Nose: sweet bourbon notes. Wouldn’t be able to tell it’s a rye . Just a hint of that rye pine at the end Palate: drinks like a bourbon rye blend. Rye backbone for sure but has sweet bourbon notes. Finish: sweet smooth finish. Hints of licorice and anise. Kentucky hug lingers 7 on the t8ke scale -

Reviewed September 28, 2022 (edited October 11, 2022)Another contestant in our recent rye whiskey tasting. Picked this up along with a few other expressions of theirs on our KBT trip this spring. Nose is sweet, and the rye spice is present on the palate, followed by a nice cinnamon red hot, medium length finish. But honestly, I’m hoping that things improve now that we’ve cracked this one open. Pretty good as it is if it doesn’t, but like I said; high hopes…Wilderness Trail Distillery -
