Reviewed May 20, 2022 (edited July 21, 2022)Poured in a Glencairn glass and a few drops of water added. Nose: Cherry pie, some cinnamon, a mild brine lingers. The higher proof is apparent. Palate: Cherry, vanilla, caramel, a little black pepper. A pleasant full mouth feel. Finish: Stone fruit lingers. Sweetness fades quickly. Spices come to the forefront. Leather undertones. Pleasantly surprised at lack of alcohol burn. Ryes are usually underwhelming to me, but this is different. I’m glad I picked up a couple of bottles. This has become one of my favorites, especially given the price point, $55. I would pay twice that much for it. It’s worth picking up a bottle or two. Chances are, if you aren’t thrilled with it, someone else around will appreciate it for you.
