William Heavenhill 13 Year Bottled in Bond (8th Edition)

Nose is very smokey and also has a very strong pine scent. There is a dusty peanut smell and sweet vanilla is in there as well. I get lemon heads candy smell after the bourbon opens up in the glencairn. Palate is very sweet initially with vanilla, carmel and milk chocolate. It has a black pepper and rye spice towards the end of the ride. It drinks a little warmer than 100 proof but the viscosity is really oily and mouth coating. There is some peanut brittle mixed in there as well which adds some complexity. Finish is really nice and clean. It gives a little warm hug and leaves some sweet oak, barrel char and sweet carmel with hints of vanilla. It's exactly the finish you are looking for in a high end bourbon. Very happy to have gotten a bottle as it is really a classic take on a well aged bourbon. It has lots of dense flavor but doesn't get too unbalanced in any way.

Nose: neat: caramel a lot of caramel, chocolate and vanilla. Nuts... water chestnut? Faint smoke in the background. The smoke really emerged the longer this breathed. Body: medium to full Palate:caramel, pepper, vanilla Finish: very long and smoky, smokey caramel and tobacco, that’s how a finish should go. Note: a taste from don. 1.5-2 ounces. After a doc swinsons 15 and early timed bib. So I’m feeling good. Also 2 bottles of wine earlier today so yeah. Tombstone on the TV adds to this profile along with being on the north shore of Lake Superior. Aaaaaaaanyway, I’m excited for this even though I’ll never get a bottle unless I’m in Kentucky. The dram just kept unraveling after the first sip. The long smoky, tobacco and burnt caramel are my favorite. The palate is classic with a full body but what makes this special is the long smoky finish

Yum, has smooth throughout and a lovely tasty back...in the ranks of bday bourbons

Let me start off by saying I am a huge Heavenhill fan and I was super excited to be able to add this bottle to my collection. Unfortunately this one just does not live up to my expectations at all. This is my fourth or fifth pour out of the bottle and every time I don’t review it thinking I must have missed something and I will give it another shot. It is just overwhelmingly flat to me in all aspects, nothing stands out to me at all other than maybe a touch of peanut on the very back end of the finish. There isn’t anything bad about it per say but it doesn’t hold a candle to any Old Fitz or even the Elijah Craig Barrel Proofs to be honest. I don’t regret my purchase but I wouldn’t pay top dollar at a bar to have a pour either!

Super smooth front sip, grey flavor with the burn after. Nice finish. Good pour.

Neat. Nose is oaky caramel. Taste is sweet oaky spice with caramel notes and a long sweet finish with a touch of spice.

Tasted this on the Heaven Hill Distillery tour! It was a delicious bourbon so smooth with rich flavor. I highly recommend this!
