William Larue Weller Bourbon (Fall 2013)

A rich Bourbon Whiskey that is about 12 years old bottled at 68.1% ABV. It has a relaxed birth with notes of caramel, plum, leather & a hint of grassy tobacco; while life is sweet with notes of brown sugar, nut, honey, licorice, oak, tannins, hints of dried fruit & vanilla; that lead to a long & delicate death with notes of black cherry, spice, wheat & pepper. December 2017 / July 2018 / July 2022

Wow. Warm, cozy maple sugar sweetness on the nose. Akin to opening a bag of caramel corn. This reaches every corner of the mouth and coats it in blanket of buttery goodness. Caramel, cinnamon, smoke and oak. Rich and sweet all the way down. Comfort bourbon. If it gets better than this, I’ve yet to find it.
