Woodford Reserve Distillery Series Double Double Oaked 2021

Nose is the best part of the bourbon. Double oaked with additional sweet notes but not overwhelming. Balanced and delicious

Nose - Caramel, cinnamon, vanilla, leather. Minor hints of berry. Maple syrup pancakes Palate - Oak, leather, sugar cinnamon, maple syrup. Waffles, toasty waffles. Finish - Oak and honey, so good

Good nose and great viscosity. While very enjoyable and a great sip, on tasting it is dominated by red fruit and oak (not char which was my fear). Those two notes are so strong it lacks some complexity. Finish rounds out into a nice honey like note. Not my favorite of the double double releases, but a strong showing and worth the price of administration.

Nose: sweet like powdered sugar with some graham cracker and oak Palate: some heat followed by a smooth vanilla oaky Finish: lots of oak with some charred sugary caramel in there too Overall a well done bourbon but a bit one dimensional for me. Sweet took over and I didn’t get much other than that. Good bourbon

Got to try this during my tour at Woodford. Didn’t have time for a full review, but the nose was like candy and was solid through the pallet and finish.
