Second tasting. This time I don't get the oak I did with my last tasting (funny how that works), but now there is an unmistakable floral, grassy sweetness. This sweetness seems to dominate and very little of anything else comes through. Not a bad bourbon, just not the rye I was hoping for.
Solid whiskey for sure. Although, not like most eyes I’ve had. This is a straight down the middle drink to me. Clean and tightly packaged. More metaphors than actual description. Again, solid, but I don’t think I’ll go out of my way to pick this up again if I have the chance to try something else—particularly something not rye.
