Woodinville Straight 100% Rye (90 Proof)

This has a much more thick oily texture and rich depth of flavor than you would expect from a 45% ABV whiskey, and suprisingly a little water really helps this one bring out the flavors. Definitely at the forefront is mint, clove, cinnamon and that rye bread fennel character. Finish is wuite long and in line with the palate.

Pretty smooth, goes down easy without much burn. My 1st 100% rye that I’ve tried.

Average Rye. Pretty hot for 90 proof as well. Acceptable for the price point, I suppose.

Carries that note of raw wood that doesn’t quite scream maturity. Has notes of honey and fruit with a little bit of spice, but needs a bit more maturity to strip out that character.

Rather average rye with a decent opening burn and spice with clove and cinnamon. Lingering leather finish that somewhat outstays its welcome. Overall not bad, not great.
