Straight up:
The aromas are at first very juniper forward. But quickly floral notes and lemongrass kicked in. It is very pleasant and approachable with low level of alcohol choke.
On palate it again started with juniper, followed by some grassy and citrus notes. The texture is more oily and richer than most gins. Mandarin orange surprisingly pops up during the finish with some pepper and citrus in the background.
With fever tree tonic:
Such a great combination. The fruity and slightly grassy flavours fuse perfectly with the tonic to give a pleasant and refreshing long drink. The overall sweetness increases which highlights the fruity flavours more.
At the price point of USD40 per litre this is a great addition to any bar shelves.
