Iron Smoke Apple Wood Smoked Whiskey (Discontinued)
Other Whiskey — New York , USA
Reviewed December 1, 2020A lot of apple wood on the nose along with vanilla and smoke. On palate it is sweeter than expected - like sugary sweet. Tastes like an apple pie with icing. I might have hoped it to be milder on the sweetness and be smoother here. But nevertheless an interesting bourbon to try -
Very clear on the palate, juniper forward, with predominant herbal flavours of fennel and anise. I almost get why they named it snowdrop - its clarity and light body remind me of snowflakes. Quite attractive with this flavour profile and should go well with some slightly stronger tonic. It might also be interesting with a dirty martini. I had it with sparkling water which helps in appreciating the herbal flavours but does not complement much.

Dalmore 1999 15 Year (Alexander Murray & Co.)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 31, 2020Very sweet on nose - almost like sugar icing on an orange cake. Some honey aromas to go along with it too. On palate it brings some chocolate and smoke, even some licorice. A very weird whisky I would say that may be fitting to a distinct group of people
