Nose: campfire, smoked damp moss, fresh cedar, dried hay, damp seaweed and salty sea breeze, aged leather book binding, freshly ground cinnamon,
Palate: moderately oily, touch of salted caramel, cinnamon, a little heat from the ethanol
Finish: caramel rinsed in saline, tobacco, ash and smoke from charred meat, progresses to toasted marshmallows, touch of black pepper, cinnamon gives way to light cherry. Sweetness lingers at least as long as the smoke.
An excellent, deep and nuanced dram. Lands more on the side of smoke than outright peat.
