Lucky to be tasting this. My first barrel strength rye. Beautiful amber color leaving nice legs. Tried neat. On the nares its spicy with notes of nutmeg, clove, spearmint, caramel, green apples, black cherries. On the palate.. whoa boy is this hot initially with a strong numbing sensation following the Kentucky chew and a long burning Kentucky hug. After a few more hugs, I get notes of spearmint, spice, brown sugar, cinnamon, clove, and lemon zest leaving a longing heat, that is the perfect amount, causing you to crave your next sip.
