Nose: Fresh berries (strawberry, blueberry, blackberries), dried berries (cranberries, mulberries), a hint of earthy and slightly heathery peat, a smidgeon of coastal driftwood smoke, dark rich chocolate, chocolate covered cherries, chocolate filled with brandy and a cherry, deep but balanced Spanish oak, honeyed malt, rich butterscotch, a touch of cardamom and clove, a touch of black pepper, perfumey apricot preserves, a touch of ripe pineapple, a touch of medium ripe nectarines, a hint of walnuts, raspberry and blackberry marmalade, spicy pears, a touch of sweet peppermint, aged tobacco, some sweet starchy oats, candied Italian lemon, lavender, some rich seasoned American oak, light orange peel, sweet and sour old oak
Palate: Sweet berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries), honey, bittersweet oak, dried cranberries, a touch of earth tobacco, some sweet walnuts and chestnuts, perfumey strawberry and apricot purée, black and white pepper, creamy oats, slight touch of old toffee, very slight coastal brine and wood smoke, a touch of grassy peat, maritime salinity, some baking spice (clove, cardamom, nutmeg, ginger) and raisin
Finish: Blueberry preserves, some red apple skins, some mild heathery (almost highlandesque) peat, some maritime plants, a touch of vanilla and caramel, slight sweet oakiness
