@Anthology no rush—whenever you open it, that would be awesome—would be good to try a sample before spending $225+ on a bottle. I can send over a few things as well that are open I can send along. Text me 201-650-1491
@Anthology Oh, that’d be the fanciest old fashioned and probably be a point of no return for you making cocktails with the cheaper brown sugars. I say go for it and let us all know what you think.
@PBMichiganWolverine …I.e. if you were looking to get a full bottle. Otherwise happy to add to the list of samples I’ll someday send you lol
@Anthology I’m in NJ — they might be shipping here —yeah, send the link, I’ll see if they ship. Thanks !
@PBMichiganWolverine Hahaha on both the last comments (wifey cart move & what this whole whiskey thing has come down to). @pkingmartin wow sounds delicious! Would prolly make some delicious brown sugar-based cocktails like old fashioned. I’m very tempted. @PBMichiganWolverine. I saw your Qs about Octomore 13.2. There’s a local retailer that had about 17 of them in stock last time I checked yesterday for $250. I snagged one and may grab another….Octomore fully matured in PX casks sounds like a win. Not sure if they ship to Michigan though but worth a try if you’re interested. Let me know and I’ll share link offline.
@pkingmartin nice!!! Thanks! And maybe I can convince the wife then that caviar on Wonder Bread still is better than Wonder Bread alone @Anthology this is what we’ve gotten to…trading whiskey samples and top grade culinary ingredients. 😁
@PBMichiganWolverine 😂 I’ll send you a sample from my sugar bag. @Anthology It’s actually the best brown sugar I’ve tasted. Not as sweet as normal brown sugar with a toasted nuttiness, light minerality, and mild fruitiness. I put it in my green tea and act like I’m drinking a poor man’s version of Hibiki 30.
@PBMichiganWolverine hahaha
@Anthology @pkingmartin my wife took it out from the AMZN shopping cart. Exact words “and where will you possibly use this? In your cheap Folgers every morning !?!? Like putting caviar on WonderBread “
@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington This Pascal’s wager sounds right up my alley. I’m in!
@PBMichiganWolverine @pkingmartin what’s the verdict on the Okinawa sugar?
Is Nancy Fraley moonlighting as “WORLDWHISKIES95”?
@pkingmartin hah! Funny…me too! Amazon prime. Freakin most expensive sugar I’ve ever bought.
@PBMichiganWolverine indeed, a boy can either dream or be damned by the mundane.
@PBMichiganWolverine I didn’t realize that was a thing either and now I have an order of it coming as I doubt I’ll ever try the Hibiki 30 year but am very much looking forward to my new sugar experience.
@Bourbon_Obsessed_Lexington because, if you’re wrong, you have nothing to lose? And if you’re right, and obtain, by such improbable luck or skill or a 1.4B lottery, than you have everything to gain .
@PBMichiganWolverine I want to believe… kind of like Santa, if magical flavors exist in unobtainable whiskey than I’ll take Pascal’s wager
You had me at Okinawa sugar. Didn’t know it was a thing. Thought sugar is sugar.
