Tasted three whiskies from Savage & Cooke and three from the Splinter Group last night. These are my quick take impressions.

Oily and slightly viscous, semisweet, caramel, vanilla, barrel char, baking spices, bit of glue, dig deep to get grapes, light sweeties candy appears on the nose late.
Splinter Group ftw overall.

@PBMichiganWolverine that’s interesting. I didn’t think the wine cask was overdone on any of them, but then again it wasn’t a night for deeply contemplating each whiskey.
@jdriip i think the quality has gone down on these. I had it when it first came out 4-5 years ago, and I loved it. I had it again recently some weeks back, and thought it was too heavy handed with the red wine casks. Who maybe , maybe the quality, or maybe could be changes in my taste
