On the nose its a honey and vanilla bomb with some traces of the rye grain. Upon mouthing and swishing, the nose picks upon black pepper, and more rye grain mixed with heavy honey and a green apple. In the throat, the rye and black pepper notes are more prevalent with a mint or sage note also evident. The honey and vanilla are faint. Nasally, the notes are fleeting but linger in the throat and fill the tongue with the oak and pepper. Nose 2/5 as the notes are simple and mild, Taste 3/5 as more complex layers of tastes show up and have a lasting finish. A very pleasant whisky that is easily crushable and would likely go extremely well as a rye and ginger. Overall 3/5
