Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 2
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed

This one took me awhile to warm up to.
Bottle is 3/4 full, open 6 months +/-.
Nose: French vanilla, slightly burnt buttered popcorn, straw, dried apricots, graham cracker and light baking spices.
Palate: Rich, viscous, coating, vanilla, baking spices, smoke notes and heat, the longer held, the hotter it gets.
Finish: Sryupy, sticky, numbing. Maybe this could be a good substitute for Novocain if you are going to have dental work done.
To quote Pink Floyd, “ I have become comfortably numb. “
In the end, I fell in love with this bottle and wanted more. Bumped 1/4 point.

@skillerified you are not alone. I finished off this bottle in an HP tasting with my buddies. It was the fav of the night. I regretted that it was empty and sought out another bottle.
I had a cask strength HP store pick a while back and it took a good six months before I warmed to its charms and I've missed it since. I think I'm going to have to give this one a go. Thx for the notes.
I thoroughly ADORE this batch. Been wondering for awhile if it's just me. Seeming more likely...
@DjangoJohnson 😂😂 going to the dentist still gives me pause
Back in my 20s I would throw back a shot of Knob and take a benzo before I hit the dentist but that was when I lived in the city and could take the trolley to the dentist office. Now I just have to be a man about it.
Took me forever to finish batch 1
