If someone asked me what bourbon tastes like and wanted me to grab something off the shelf as a good example this would be it. I bought this on a whim for a bourbon party and wanted something ive never tried before to share. Knowing nothing about this, besides what the label tells us, i placed my $55+ tax on the counter and walked outbof the liqour store.
Smells like a typical middle of the road bourbon nothing wild and reminds me of 1792 small batch or a chestnut farms basically any barton product. Upon tasting it nothing stands out, good or bad, its not memorable but its also not easy to forget you’ve tried it. I dig it because of that. Goes down easy and with a cube its even easier. I really like that its neutral in the world of whiskeys trying to stick out.
So here’s my beef. $55+tax so almost $65 for a bottle that reminds me of a $30-35 bottle. The bottle itself is beautiful and certainly makes it look like a $55 bottle so hats off to the marketing department but for the pricepoint i cant see myself buying this again with so many other choices to try around the same price point. But if you’re on the fence and want to try something new or want to bring an impressive bottle to a party full of bourbon amateurs this woukd make an excellent choice. Good sipper that would be a great crowd pleaser for those new to the spirit.

@Richard-Davenport in the expert review they say it’s “dangerously drinkable” I absolutely agree but so is Elijah Craig Small Batch at $27.98 at my local Walmart liquors. One of these days I’d like to make it to Louisville and I’d make it a point to stop by Rabbit Hole because I can tell they are trying to make high quality product and it shows.
Fair and objective review. What I do like about Rabbit Hole is their commitment to quality. I went to a tasting and met the founder about a year and a half ago. In my mind, the quality kicks it up a notch, but to your point, this isn't necessarily known.
