Aroma - Oh yeah.. definitely usual Beam presence (which I personally enjoy). Getting a very rich deep oak, beam-nuttiness, leather, caramel and vanilla. Really hope the palate follow the nose, because the aroma is awesome. As it opens up, I’m getting dark fruit notes.
Taste - oaky (but not over oaked), caramel, vanilla. The beam-nuttiness really isn’t has prevalent here as it was on the nose but it is still there. That nuttiness mingles really well in the finish.
Overall - It’s very very good. I wish the palate was as bold as the nose but at 100 proof, it’s hard to be that critical. However, the finish is a bit longer that you would expect from a 100 proof offering. The finish is nice and oaky and the beam-profile isn’t over powering.
Is it worth the price of admission!?!?
Probably not if you enjoy higher proof whiskeys. However, If you enjoy the lower proof stuff then absolutely because I think the flavor profile is awesome.
