I only use cachaca to make caipirinhas, and I do not have a lot of cachacas available to me. The funky experience it provides is unlike any of there spirit. I really enjoy the Novo Fogo brand. The barrel-aged version mellows out the funky, overripe tropical fruits and grass, and adds some cinnamon and vanilla. I prefer the white / un-aged for caipirinhas, but this is great nonetheless. The only issue is the price, this runs ~$50 in my area, and it wouldn't surprise me if it goes up.
