A complex, Bourbon Whiskey by Ralph Erenzo founder of Tuthilltown Distillery in New York made from 100% New York Corn harvested less than 10 miles away from the distillery in Gardiner. The bourbon is rested in small (baby), 3-gallon & 14-gallon charred American oak casks in a heated warehouse for 6 to 24 months. The heat expands the oak casks & mingles with the Whiskey. Then at night, when the temperature drops, the bourbon is lullaby-ed to sleep by a subwoofer playing some very deep bass music.
It has a rich birth with notes of corn & vanilla; while a complex life adds notes of vanilla, buttered popcorn, caramel, oak, grass & flowers; that led to a woody death with notes of dough, oak, char, fresh ginger & leather. October 2020/ August 2022
