Bardstown Bourbon Co. Discovery Series #13

Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Lots of tags here and there are more tags I’m still considering. So many flavors that this one crosses into its hard to say. Minty vs piney vs cinnamon vs peppery? Nose is deep dark and musty with some confectionery notes maybe vanilla frosting. Palate definitely had a tingle similar to red hots candy but has rich chocolate cupcake vibes. Starts rich and creme brulee changes to cinnamon then back to the burnt sugar thing. Its like a deep dark cousin to a willet purple top. It even tastes similar to one of the rare character bourbons of late. Its a top tier whiskey I really like now and will love when it gets colder. I wouldn’t say its one I would run out and buy more but I bet after its gone I’ll want another. Update. Just figured it out. Tastes like garrison brothers cowboy at almost half the price.

I definitely got the deep, dark notes including baking spices, leather, and tobacco!

I'm with you on your review, especially on the thoughts about cinnamon, chocolate and sugar.
