Bruichladdich Octomore 16.2 is the reason why Single Malt Scotch whiskey is superior. A single ingredient bringing such a diverse flavor profile requires knowledge on cask maturation beyond any other whisky style.
This is a single malt finished in Madeira and Moscatel wine casks. It offers a variety of flavors that is incredible. It comes in with 58.1% ABV, but you cant tell its that hot. The color is a dense copper and its very oily.
On the nose: Sea Salt Caramel that was just burned on top of a creme brulee and orange marmalade.
On the palate: very similar to the nose and a bit of a spice note.
Finish: very prolonged, intense with the bonfire smoke and spices.
It’s just an explosion of flavors, an experience and a perfect pairing for a great cigar on a campfire. Insanily good! Slainte!
