agreed, though it improved the more it went on. drank this aside Hibiki Harmony at a dinner party recently and everyone gravitated towards the Hibiki
The sugary sweetness and floral component on this one never seemed to come through. Sweetness was bitter and saccharine laced, if present at all, and I nosed more grasses and aged hops than floral notes. Had a strong evergreen element to the palate. Not my thing, but definitely niche and different from Balvenie's typical balanced and robust profile.
