I've started to become a fan of Irish whiskies lately...maybe that lighter floral taste is better suited now that the weather here in the Northeast is getting warmer. So much of what you drink is enhanced by the elements: having an Islay or Islander while rain is pounding outside in a 40 degree (F) is soothing, while I think a hot summery humid day calls for something lighter like a Lowlander or Irish (NO...we're not going rose wines...heck no. Maybe a Sauvignon Blanc if push comes to shove, but NO rose wine ;-) . I've had two other Teelings before, a single grain 14 yr old Revival and a calvados cask. Liked the single grain, thought the calvados was a waste of time and money. Thanks to Matt Rice, I got to sample my 3rd Teeling. Quite an aromatic nose with gentle notes like honey and cream. If you like lighter flavors, you'll love the palette on this: lemons, honey, and butter cream coconut pie. I'm not sure how much this costs, but if it's reasonable, it's worthwhile to have this as a regular shelf item. Matt--thanks again for this.

Pranay, will send out a sample of Redbreast 12 along with a couple of others in early May.
This has been on my wishlist for a while. Your review inspires me to go pick up a bottle.
Matt: I have, but I'd be up for trying it again. I had over 1-2 years ago, when I really didn't appreciate Irish whiskey.
Pranay, have you tried Redbreast 12 year? If not I just opened a bottle and can send you a sample.
Tony this one isn't quite on par with Redbreast, but it's also half the price and a good VFM pour.
I'm a big fan of Redbreast, might need to give Teeling another shot. I'm also seeking lighter whisky as the weather warms here in the Northeast.
Glad you enjoyed, actually bought it on sale for $30. So very reasonably priced.
My new found love for Irish had me purchasing a 25 yr old single cask sherry Redbreast from LMDW (la Maison du Whisky) when I was in Paris a few months back. Waiting to pop that open...
I'll have to taste this. Thanks for the review.
This Teeling is a nice treat and easily found for under $40. Good things are on the horizon from Teeling, from what I read, and the Irish Whiskey industry. Good review.
