For review #200, I chose Blanton's Original Single Barrel. It is hard to find locally, at least at a decent price. I picked this one up several months ago at a local Vons, of all places, for $79. On to the tasting.
I just about melted when I took my first sip. It's so good, so wonderful. Not complex by any means, just bourbon done right. The orange marmalade, caramel, corn, cherry and spices on the nose drew me in and piqued my anticipation. The velvety palate did not disappoint with more orange, cherry and slight baking spices. The finish is medium length with the same orange and cherry notes plus some nut notes, even ammeretto.
I would buy this again in a heart beat.

@AntonioSchmid if your bottle is as good as the one I have, you will not regret openIng it 😊
@Soba45 thank you!
@cascode it's good to finally get a "win" in the sigle barrels 😀
“Orange marmalade, cherry and spices...” Now I want to open my bottle! 😂
Congrats on reaching 200 :-)
@jdriip That’s all part of the fun :-)
@Scott_E thanks. Glad I got a good bottle. Seems a little bit hit and miss with single barrels.
@jdriip A good whiskey to sip for your 200th. And even better that you max enjoyed. Nice review.
@cascode thank you
Congrats on 200 reviews, and a great choice for the occasion.
WOW...I don't know if I've ever tasted a whiskey that I thought was worth $150 a bottle for. I hope I never do...I'd be broke in a month.
@BDanner most liquor store here have marked up to $150
Nice review! It rarely shows up here, but the good news is in a control state, when it does show up, it's MSRP which is around $63.
