Very nice scotch to make a “godfather” cocktail. Drank a lot of them on the last cruise I was just on. Disaronno and JW Black go together like a match made in heaven. Smoky and sweet. Mmmmm!

@cascode Yes...the High Fructose Corn Syrup seems to be an American thing. I'd love to visit Australia for many reasons, and you've just given me another.
@BDanner Ah I see. Our Coke is also made with cane sugar, cane being the crop we grow here for sugar. So for the original taste of sucrose instead of glucose or fructose, come to Australia!
@cascode it’s still made with cane sugar and not corn syrup. Maybe it makes a difference, but probably not.
@BDanner Why Mexican Coke specifically?
@BDanner I really enjoyed the “Godfather”, similar to a Rusty Nail. Something my father always recommended drinking. I keep putting off buying a bottle of amaretto to make these at home though. Certainly worth keeping around the liquor cabinet.
I’ve never really done the cocktail thing with Scotch, but saw an article the other day touting the “Smoky Cokey” using Mexican Coke and Peated Scotch. I used Laphroaig Select (just because it was the least expensive peated in my cabinet) and I must say it was very good. I think JW Black would work well in that combination as well.
