How is this so low? I need to get deeper into the bottle, but there are lots of great flavours to pick out here. Light on the nose, maybe lemon, pear? Then on the palate is coasts so well, brings out toffee, vanilla, and yellow fruits. The oak and char finish is fantastic. Maybe I'm wrong here, but I think this is a "classic" Scotch with some extra kick. Cheers!

Agree with you on the score. 79 is way too low. This is so much better than that. I love the honey/toffee notes on the palate. Maybe a little too sweet for some, but should definitely score in the mid-80s.
@SolanaRoots I agree, maybe a re review is in order!
Great review and completely agree. Would be keen to see a @brooklynwino re-review after 6 years since the consensus seems to be this whisky has vastly improved. Ralfy’s whisky of the year for 2020
