Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland

The aroma was pungent when it first came out of the bottle, more paint and plastic smell. However after it is allowed to rest for a few minutes the sweet aromas of pear and nectarine start to dominate, with scents of sherry oak to follow.
On palate it similarly starts with sweet and fruity, and after swallowing the oak starts to come out. The finish is medium, but is very pleasant.
As a 12-year old Macallan this is a lot more friendly and relaxing to drink than expected
