Laws Single Barrel Secale Straight Rye
Rye — Colorado, USA

This rye whiskey has thick watery legs and an amber gold color.
The nose is sweet and vegetal with notes of watermelon rind, green vegetables, cooking spices, dill, juniper, wet straw, and Smarties candy.
The swallow is harsh on the back of the throat, but once you get past that, one tastes sweet notes of caramel, cinnamon, cherry candy, and kiwi.
The finish is long, sweet, and oaky. Cheers!

@WhiskeyLonghorn Yeah, they are never bad, but I agree. I have typically expected more “oomph” from their products. Which is a bummer because I know they are artists every step of the way. Hopefully you and I will see some older offerings down the road.
Maybe it’s just me but I always feel let down by Laws. I just want them to do better...maybe more time ageing will help them out.
