Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland

Nice whiskey, but did not wow me. Some toffee and nutty sherry on the nose and palate, medium finish is a little rough and spicey. A splash of water adds some orchard fruit on the nose and makes the palate creamier.

@WhiskeyLonghorn I enjoyed the 12 year better than the 15.
For the $60-65 I paid for my bottle of this, it's a no-brainer re-buy. It's darned fine whisky, but I do have to agree that it isn't the best whisky in the world (despite having won that award). I'm looking forward to trying the 18 and 21 when I've gotten through a bunch of the other stuff I have lying around here.
Well Im gonna chime in here. Imo the 12 is an excellent sherried single malt but the 15 and 18 are easily better including the price jump. The 15 vs 18 I would have o give the nod to the 15 overall. I certainly think 18 is better but not double the cost better. I have not had the luxury of the 21 as of yet
@jonwilkinson7309 I quite enjoyed my bottle of the 18, but I found it a bit too dry for my liking. I do enjoy that sweet PX influence on the 21. Gives a little extra depth that I was missing on the 18.
@WhiskeyLonghorn @jdrip. Interesting! I like the 12, 18 and 21, with the 18 and 21 neck and neck. My bottle of the 15 is sitting unopened, and I have yet to try the 15. If it's just decent, I'd opt for the magnificent 18 instead with any future purchases.
This may start a spirited discussion, but this one wasn’t my favorite of the core line either. The 12 and the 21 are my wheelhouse.
