Tasting notes from over the life of the bottle. Always in a glencairn, usually rested. Great neat but a touch of water tames the heat. Still I like the strength and that it’s bottled at 100 proof.
Salty air, Seaweed and smoke on the nose, like a beach campfire. Palate is meaty, fruity, and floral. Reminds me of Hawaiian bbq complete with salinity, enjoyed amongst fresh tropical flowers. The finish is spicy and smoky, like a burning ocean; with a bit of oaky bitter tannins. If I had one complaint it’s the bitterness at the end could be a little tamer. Still a great whisky!
