New Spirit Releases - March 29, 2024 - The Dalmore Luminary No. 2, Michter's 10 Year Bourbon (2024), Penelope Bourbon Rio (2024) and More!

The Dalmore's Luminary series is a three part series of rare and limited edition single malts created by exceptional luminaries from the worlds of whisky and architectural design. Here, the brand collaborated with V & A Dundee, Scotland's design museum. The single malt whisky contains a small amount of rare peated Dalmore spirit. After aging for 16 years in bourbon casks, it was then finished in a blend of Graham's Tawny port pipes and Apostoles sherry casks. Additionally, a small portion was aged in peated ex-refill bourbon casks. Available at select retailers worldwide and at Global Travel Retail beginning April 2, 2024. (SRP $350)

The 2024 release for Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon is set for April 2024. As with most recent releases, the barrels were selected by Master Distiller Dan McKee, along with Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson. Also, like the rest of the Michter's whiskeys supplies are allocated due to the high demand. (SRP $185)

This is the second Rio release for Penelope and is part of the brand's Cooper Series using different types of oak to finish the bourbon. This expression is a four-grain straight bourbon made with a mash bill of 74% corn, 16% wheat, 7% rye and 3% malted barley. It was initially aged in new, charred American oak before a finishing in a combination of American honey and Brazilian oak casks. It is bottled non chill-filtered at 98 proof. For this 2024 release, there are 5,000 6-pack cases available beginning March 2024. (SRP $89.99)

Following a 2020 Distiller's Select release, Sagamore Spirit has announced the return of their Manhattan Finish Rye. This 2024 release uses a 4-year-old straight rye whiskey and finishes it in separate vermouth, bitters, and cherry brandy barrels for 20 months. Bottled at 103 proof, it's available in select markets nationwide beginning in March 2024. (SRP $79.99)

Following the second release of the brand's First West Rye, 15 Stars has released First West Bourbon. This release is a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys from Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee aged 15, 9, and 7 years, respectively. Bottled at 106 proof (53% ABV), availability begins March 25, 2024 in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Missouri, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida, Massachusetts, Illinois, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. This is the first release in the brand's Oak Series, a new set of experimental American whiskeys with a focus on cask maturation in different oak varietals from around the world. Here, the American whiskey was aged 12 years in French oak barrels -- some with char and some without. Bottled at 50% ABV, availability will be limited to an online lottery taking place April 4-11, 2024 via the brand's website with winners having to purchase in-person at the ASB gift shop in Virginia. This is the second limited edition bottling of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey which was made in partnership with McLaren Racing. The packaging for this 2024 release has been updated with a papaya twist on the Old No. 7 logo design. Available in 1L sized bottles in select US markets as well as 700ml and 1L sized bottles in select Formula 1 race cities internationally beginning March 27, 2024.
