New Spirit Releases - October 27, 2023

Knob Creek 18 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon (2023 Release) is a rare, limited whiskey that was first introduced in 2022. It is bottled at 50% ABV and has a suggested retail price of $169.99. It is available across the United States for a limited time as of October 2023.

Whistlepig The Boss Hog X: The Commandments is the tenth bottling in the brand's Boss Hog series. This straight rye whiskey was hand bottled on the Whistlepig Farm after being finished in two different finishing barrels. The first housed a spirit distilled from rye and whey and infused with aromatic resins. The second held mead casks. It is bottled at proof, between 52.6-53.5% ABV and carries a suggested retail price of $599.99. It is available across the United States as of October, 2023.

Ardbeg Anamorphic is an Ardbeg Committee exclusive release. The spirit was aged in Ardbeg bourbon casks that had the heads removed and ground down to expose more wood. The barrels themselves were heavily charred, before the casks were filled. It is bottled at 48.2% ABV and is only available to Ardbeg Committee Members, and in limited numbers at the distillery on Islay. It carries a suggested price of $209.99.

Nikka's limited edition Discovery Series explores various whisky-making production techniques the brand has practiced over the years. This 2023 release, the third and final in the series, takes an inside look into Nikka's grain whiskies made at four of their distilleries: Miyagikyo, Nishinomiya (now closed), Moji, and Satsumatsukasa. Coffey grain from Miyagikyo is the heart of the blend with experimental new grain whisky made from corn and rye also included. Available October 2023 with the US getting an allotment of 2,600 bottles. (SRP $174.99)

Dalmore Select Edition 2005 (Bottled 2023) is an 18 Year old whisky release in The Dalmore's Vintage Collection. This limited edition whisky was aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in a combination of Vintage 2005 Sherry and Matusalem casks. It is bottled at 49.3% ABV and has a suggested price of $499.99.

Dalmore Select Edition 2008 (Bottled 2023) is a 15 Year old whisky release in The Dalmore's Vintage Collection. This limited edition whisky was aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in a combination of 15 Year old Pedro Ximénez Sherry and Matusalem sherry casks. It is bottled at 45.8% ABV and has a suggested price of $199.99.

Balcones Cataleja is a Texas Single Malt made with 100% Golden Promise malted barley that celebrates the brand's 15th anniversary. Initially, it was aged in refill casks before being placed into a variety of decommissioned sherry solera puncheons: Moscatel, Amontillado Dulce, Oloroso, and Palo Cortado. It is bottled at 59% ABV and has a suggested retail price of $125. Balcones Cataleja will be available to purchase for a limited time from retailers in Texas, California, Illinois, Colorado, New York and Florida starting in November of 2023.

Jimmy Red Bourbon Bottled in Bond Single Farm Edition was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of High Wire Distilling Co. It was made using 100% Jimmy Red Corn grown at Plumfield Farm in Darlington, SC. This bottled in bond whiskey is the first from High Wire and has a suggested price of $299. Roughly 2,000 bottles were produced, and it is available starting in October 2023 at select liquor stores and online retailers.
