Nose: Light honey, faint vanilla & brown sugar. Taste: Really sweet so not for everyone. Does has a slight burn after swallowing so it's not like drinking simple syrup. Vanilla, brown sugar...yeah, I can get a tad of butterscotch, too. On the tongue it has a viscosity to it like thinned honey ("oily" in whisky parlance). This would make a good dessert drink. As someone stated, I agree that this works well with some water; I tried it again with ice and it was a slightly better drink. Rating is based on neat sipping.

Faint vanilla smell. Can't quite pin down the flavors...some vanilla of course, maybe hints of dried dark fruit. Deli & Italian salami make it way too spicy on my tongue so that was a lesson learned. I paid $25 for a [neat] shot but it tasted more like a $10-$12 sipper. Rating is based on neat sipping.

Shackleton Blended Malt
Blended Malt — highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 27, 2019 (edited October 25, 2019)Faint peat & pear smell but more of honey & vanilla. Initial flavors of banana & mild pear followed by apple and maybe some light smokiness. Spicy warmth on tongue and throat that lingers. At the end it smelled more like honey & pears...really good. A drink that would grow on one I believe; I may need to get a bottle and test that theory! -
Mild vanilla, maple syrup, and spiced oak aroma. Mild spicy taste and a rather odd flavor, kind of like generic cola, not what my [inexperienced] thought of as a"rum" flavor to me would be. Smells much better than it tastes. Second time around: Getting a cinnamon finish. Rating is based on neat sipping.64.95 USD per Bottle

Gentle vanilla & raisin smell. Tastes of dried apricot, raisins, & hint of vanilla caramel. Sweet but doesn't have that "rum" flavor I like. While smooth on the tongue, after swallowing there is spice along the sides & back of the tongue and down the throat that lingers -- while not necessarily harsh it's too much for me and tips the scale for me to not enjoy this as a sipping rum. Would be fine for a cocktail that needs sweetness and a slight [spicy] kick. Rating is based on neat sipping.

Nice vanilla scent with a floral & allspice hint. Smooth and slightly oily with a sort of thickness to it. Tastes of vanilla and spice. Dried plum and something else...dark raisin?...near the finish and lingering in taste, reminding me of exotic tropical fruit. Floral and allspice after-taste. Good coloration, similar to A&W Root Beer but with more brown. My wife -- who is from Trinidad -- really likes this with Pepsi. It does go well as a mixer. This is a good sipper! Probitas White Blended Rum
Silver Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed May 15, 2019 (edited October 11, 2020)Floral with a very strong tequila nose! Mild spice across the tongue, goes down fairly smooth. Wow...there's more tequila flavor than rum...seriously, was this aged in tequila casks?! That would also explain the golden color. Definite hints of orange rind and, for some odd reason, yellow flowers comes to mind. It's fine to drink neat (if you like the taste) but I think it would be better served in a Margarita. My low rating is due to the non-rum flavor; excluding that, 2-stars. Rating is based on neat sipping.34.95 USD per Bottle -
Plantation Pineapple Stiggins' Fancy Rum
Flavored Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed October 15, 2018 (edited May 23, 2019)Great pineapple flavor that's not overpowering. The spice can be negated with an ice cube (let it melt a bit) and without killing the whole experience if sipping it. Rating is based on neat sipping.39.95 USD per Bottle
