Tastes

Very sweet on the nose. Tons of vanilla. As soon as you taste it vanilla explodes across the tongue. After the vanilla wears off, notes of caramel and oak come through. Finishes smooth with oaky char and a little heat from the proof. Excellent.

Excellent. Tasted meat in a Taylor'd milestones glass (big glencairn). Sweet leather and vanilla on the nose. Not too much spice and a decent, but not bad alcohol burn. In the palate it feels thick & buttery. Vanilla and leather upfront with a lot of pepper on the back. I swear I taste toffee, though, it's not in the expert notes. Maybe it's the butter mixed with vanilla..... Worth the price

Excellent high proof, high rye bourbon. My bottle clocked in at 125.9 proof. Tasted it both neat and with a tiny splash of water in a Glencairn. Nose has a lot of spice and cinnamon. Definitely some burn from the proof. Spicy and warm on the palate. I taste cinnamon throughout with hints of caramel and leather. Really improved after adding a splash of water to mellow it out. Great score for the price.

On the nose: plesent hint of vanilla and fruit with a little bit of oak and leather. Not much burn from the alcohol. Typical big bourbon flavors are present throughout. Vanilla sweet and leather are prominent on the first sip. The finish is longer and deeper than plain old Woodford. There's more too it, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Setup: Glencairn, few drops of water and rested for 10ish min. On the nose sweet with a little vanilla and toffee. Not overpowering alcohol, probably due to the lower proof. On the palate it's very approachable. Not. Much to this one. Sweet vanilla on the front with a hint of spice after. Pretty good. Not great, but not bad. A very easy sipper.

A little fruity. Not much spice and very easy sipping. Not overly complex. Not something I would try neat again, but definitely not bad for cocktails. Had an old fashioned with it, not bad.

The setup: Glencairn glass, rested 15min. Vanilla, spice, and a little alcohol on the nose, but not overpowering. A little sweet. Vanilla and oak on the palate. Very smooth. I took the tasting notes advice and added an ice cube and it really opened up. Oak and chocolate on the back end. I definitely recommend this.

Wow! Hot! I definitely had to mellow this bad boy out with a few cubes. Overall it's very good, but definitely not an easy sip. Alcohol, leather and vanilla on the nose. You can taste the spice throughout the sip. Definitely feel some notes of allspice & cinnamon. Long hot finish. Be careful the finish doesn't catch you in the nose. It'll clear your sinuses!

The setup: Glencairn glass. Rested for 15min. 2 drops of water. Spice and leather on the nose. Pretty strong alcohol on the first whiff. The first sip is a little spicy upfront. Vanilla and caramel in the middle. This has a long warm finish that hangs around on the palate until the next sip is taken. After a couple tastes, you start to notice the more complex notes.

Fruity on the front. Easy sipping neat. Finish has more hints of fruit and a deep spiciness. Very good for the price.
