Tastes

A lot of alcohol on the nose and front. I found 1 small ice cube (a sin, I know) did wonders to open it up. Still warm on the palate. A little spice with overtones of vanilla and smoke. Nice long finish. Overall solid, but not one of my all time favorites.

Probably the easiest drinking single malt I've tried. Very little smoke for a scotch. Smooth with a bit of vanilla. Nothing very overpowering. Definitely salty on the front end (in a good way). If you want a bold in your face sip, this isn't it. Like Sunday morning, this one is easy.

Fruit and a little caramel on the nose (maybe?). Fruity (but not too much) on the initial taste. A little caramel and spiciness on the back. Creamy vanilla throughout the whole taste. Warm, but not hot, finish. Excellent overall.

Excellent. Just a little burn on the first note, but extremely flavorful. Tasted vanilla and cinnamon. Not much in the fruit or floral side. Finishes with a hint of allspice (maybe). 1 small ice cube really opened it up for me.

Good for the price. The flavors aren't very subtle. Banana hits you on the front end strong and quick. Mellows out on the back. Smooth with a little spice and cloviness (word?). Again, not bad for the price, but I expected more from a 91 rating.

Tasting bottle from "The Chalk" collection. Purchased 12-7-18 in Baton Rouge LA. Sweet caramel on the front. A little fruity / smokey finish. Incredibly smooth. Really soft finish. Probably because of the lower proof for a single barrel bourbon. One of my favorites so far.

Smooth as smooth can be. Little oily. Light nose considering the proof. Very pleasing on the palate. Sweet finish. One of my favorites in the price range.
