Ironroot Harbinger (115 Proof)
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed September 1, 2020 (edited March 30, 2022)I've heard great things so I went into this with high hopes. Those hopes were crushed like a poorly constructed schooner on the rocks of my taste buds. Dramatic? Maybe, but we'll deserved. The nose falls flat. Mostly alcohol and a tad bit of caramel corn. On the palate it's light, very alcohol forward. Hints of the caramel corn on the nose, a little bit of vanilla, then it falls flat on its face. It's finish is short and unfulfilling. -
GlenDronach Parliament 21 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 3, 2020 (edited January 10, 2021)Bitter dark chocolate and black coffee and truffles on the nose. Palate is fruity with a bit baking spice and vanilla. Reminds me of a caramel fruit candy with a bit of earthiness on the back. Excellent -
Belle Meade Bourbon Sherry Cask Finish
Bourbon — Indiana (bottled in Tennessee), USA
Reviewed May 24, 2020Absolutely delicious. Tons of fruit and vanilla on the nose. The flavor profile is barely "bourbon" but in a good way. Fruity with just a hint of cinnamon on the front. Sweet vanilla, apples and leathery finish on the back. Long, warm, pleasant finish. Reminds me of wild turkey masters keep Revival. Probably the sherry cask. -
Tumblin' Dice 4 Year Single Barrel Barrel Proof Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana, USA
Reviewed May 24, 2020A young spicy rye. A little bit of oak, but not very much. Black pepper, baking spice, and leather up front. A little hint of sweet, then a short punchy finish. Not bad, but honestly much better rye out there in the price range. -
The color is very light. Like amber tinted sunglasses. Sweet up front. Very non-citrus fruity. I definitely feel like it's smokier and a little more floral than the official tasting notes. It's definitely something unique and worth a try, but maybe not worth a second purchase. Try it at a bar before you drop $60.59.99 USD per BottleHokus Pokus Liquor - Prairieville
