Amador Whiskey Co. Double Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky (Finished and Bottled in California), USA
Tasted July 30, 2021Nose: Chardonnay nose with vanilla and sweetness, mild dried apricots. Very unique nose Taste: Mild spice that dies fast and same for the bourbon. It goes from tasting like bourbon to tasting like wine. Overall: hate the finish. Doesn’t like bourbon -
Bull Run Straight Bourbon Whiskey Barrel Strength
Bourbon — Pacific Northwest , USA
Tasted May 26, 2021Batch 25 Nose: very light, faint red apples. Not getting much of anything else Taste: vanilla and much better spice than the straight. Rounds out nicely on the side and the spice hours on the front. Spice doesn’t linger long but much more than the straight. Has room for growth, lacks complexity. Overall: love this and would pick it a 100 times over the straight bourbon. Flavor is defiantly not a sweet profile but a more smoky and I would keep that in mind for anyone wanting to try these.Merchants Package Store -
Batch 42 Nose: banana, faint apple, and vanilla. Love the nose on this one Taste: slightly smokey, honey, mild spice about mid palate Overall: it’s good, not my favorite but drinkable. The spice doesn’t linger and it does seem a little young and based on that I would love to try something aged more from themMerchants Package Store

Nose: vanilla and cinnamon, not in your face on the nose but not as faint as the single barrel Taste: not much going on here. Had high hopes for this one but it didn’t follow through on the taste for me. Overall: I think this is going to be great for people getting into bourbon and don’t want to jump in to the high proof type stuff
