Tastes

Salted toffee, baking spices, and a strong floral perfume dominate the nose on this one. There's also a strong ethanol scent to this one. Taste is a bit aggressive for what I'd prefer when having a rye straight. Black tea and salted toffee. Rye spice & a bit oily as well. Finishes harsh and warms my chest. A splash of water kills that but really dampens the flavor too. Would probably do great for a nice cocktail.

A gorgeous mahogany. Allspice, toffee, & sweet red wine come through on the nose of this one. There are also hints of menthol that I could do without. The port barrel aging punches through immediately. Rye spice, honey, & maple follow quickly though. Not really any better than the first time I tried it and seems to be more of a novelty rye than anything else. This has got a little punch behind it to finish however. Somehow it travels up my throat instead of burning on the way down. Still think I'd use it for mixes only. Disappointing overall.

I'm suddenly feeling like I've been transported to an apple orchard. There are also very strong floral notes and a sweet honey that's fairly subtle Smooth and rich. Very floral and sweet with a bit of pepper to balance it out. A quick bite on the finish but it vanishes with a hint of banana as quickly as it arrives. T.I. said it best I think, "I don't want no mediocre."

Neidhal Peated Indian Single Malt (Single Malts of India)
Single Malt — India
Reviewed February 18, 2023Holy peat. A smoky vanilla with a bit of salt. Oddly enough, there's a bit of medicinal or chloraseptic smell to this as well. Hard to get into anything that makes me think I've just been swabbed in prep for a blood draw Surprisingly, this is a really smooth drink. A rich vanilla and heavy smoke pour through. The peatiness you'd expect with a single malt and a touch of bite mid-finish. -
A lovely amber color but this one's a bit all over the place on the nose. Spicy(peppers) burnt vanilla and caramel lead the initial exposure. Notes of rye spice, oak, clove, & honey can also be found afterwards. A higher than standard 80 proof is noticeable but not offensive. Initial tastes are reminiscent of any bourbon with honey, vanilla, charred Oak, and a bit of bite. Pepper comes through mid-pallete but this one finishes fairly quick. Smooth but wish it would just pick a lane really. Each of the 3 spirits mixed to create this blend are present but not all are needed. Could be used as a mixer for anything that calls for whiskey.

Quite a lot here to find with your nose. Caramel and honey are present initially along with the peat I'd usually expect from a scotch. Going back in for a bit more the more subtle notes of oak and a variety of fruits can be found. The honey really comes through on tasting this one and was a little sweet for me. The front of my tongue picked up on a strong butterscotch that stuck around well after everything else had faded away. A smooth whiskey without much bite to it. A touch of spice but nothing here to leave me asking for another glass.

A fruity and toasty bourbon on the nose. There is definitely some rye in this one as it has a note of spice as well. Smooth to taste and goes down quickly. Spice and vanilla lingered. If you enjoy the smoke and oakyness of a bourbon along with the spice that a rye offers, this is probably the drink for you. A decent sipper but a bit immature.
