Loch Lomond 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands , Scotland
Reviewed October 19, 2019 (edited December 22, 2019)I get smoky, although apparently that's not part of their profile. This is a full and tasty Scotch but I guess I still don't have the vocabulary to properly describe the flavors. -
Compass Box Great King St Glasgow Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed October 19, 2019 (edited November 14, 2019)They say "bold and peatey" and they ain't kidding. It is bold, but also quite smooth. -
Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal Cognac
Cognac — Cognac, France
Reviewed October 11, 2019 (edited July 14, 2020)Quite good and smooth, lightly sweet. Tasted along with some other Remys & this seemed the 'finest.' -
Bought some of this to use in sangria, so I'm "tasting my ingredients." I've been tasting lots of 4-plus-star spirits lately, so...this is not one of them. It's instructive to try something mediocre. This is fruity and almost syrupy. It's not hard to drink, but it's not a joy. (It is smooth, at least...)

Teeling 1991 Vintage Reserve 24 Year Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed July 19, 2019 (edited August 28, 2022)So, this is one of the best Scotches I've ever had. (Oh the irony.) Smoky, peaty, complex, but smooth. A flavor explosion. This is amazing.
