Compass Box The Peat Monster (Classic Brown Label)
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed May 7, 2020 (edited June 11, 2020)Very peaty and super smooth. There are also some great floral notes on the nose, and taste. The finish is not super long, but there’s almost no bite, and it goes down very smoothly. This is an excellent blended scotch. -
One of my favorite scotches. It’s extremely peaty, but very well-balanced, which makes for a very smooth drink. The nose is peat, which carries on to the first taste, along with some sweetness. It has a medium finish, but because it is so smooth, there is very little bite. At the typical price point, Laphroaig 10 is hard to beat.

Green Spot Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed April 30, 2020 (edited May 23, 2020)On the nose it’s very unique. The sherry notes come out clearly. The sherry taste remains on the palate along with a vanilla sweetness. It has a great finish as well, and is very smooth. Overall, a superb Irish whisky.
