Sagamore Spirit Cask Strength Straight Rye
Rye — Indiana (bottled in Maryland), USA
Reviewed June 8, 2023Aggressive spicy rye oak nose. Cherry, honey, leather, oak and herbaceous spices on the tongue. A little dried fruit. Tannic herbal pepper finish. Whistlepig, Knob Creek and Barrell are some of my favorite ryes but Sagamore has my attention. -
Rye, leather, cinnamon, mildly herbal nose with sawdust and nuts. Middle of the bourbon-road palate: caramel, honey, cherry, bread dough, vanilla, apple, sagebrush. Not light and flowery, not dark and autumnal—it’s late summer I guess. Interesting and endearing. Lumberyard finish with baking spices, pepper and peanuts. Re: the expert review, if i drank this at Christmas I’d feel a bit let down.

Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2023 BEP
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 7, 2023 (edited September 4, 2023)Baking spices, oak varnish, leather, vanilla, caramel and smoky cocoa nose. Sets you up for something big, rich and sophisticated in a spicy backwoods cajun sense. Tastes like buttered cinnamon rolls, bread pudding, custard, caramel, a hint of cherry, tobacco , brown sugar and charred oak with a long spicy finish with an herbal note that does not erase the sweetness. I’ve gotta pace myself on this one. If i find another bottle i’ll buy it.70.0 USD per BottleK-7 Liquors -
